Wikis provide web pulishing opportunities which can be individual or collaborative. Use "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) software enables non-technical people to add and alter content. Wikies provide significant opportunities for collaboration and interaction. As the owner you get to choose who can use your website, it can be competely closed to non-members or open to everyone.



Uses of Wikis in Speech Pathology

Specialist can use Wikis to:

• collaborate and add new information with other specialists
• share techniques they found effective
• let other specialists know about upcoming confrences, workshops and speech forums
• use as discussion board
• post information on nutition, swallowing, the brain and alternative communication strategies
  
• create their own encylopedia regarding speech pathology terms and subjects
• create lists of words with the pronunciation and definition of the word
